About Scalemodeller

Scalemodeller is an online community for the model making enthusiast and is designed to bring like-minded individuals together in one place. It is also a good place for related businesses to network with potential customers and suppliers. Membership is completely free and there is no catch! This is a site built for enthusiasts, by enthusiasts! There are many areas for members to access, including:

Member Profile
You can create a personal profile complete with optional contact details and either a photo of yourself or a company logo if you are a business. Your profile information will be visible to all Scalemodeller members and visitors to the Scalemodeller website, although you can choose to hide information you do not wish to display.

Networking
All profiles will be visible to all members of Scalemodeller. If you like the look of a particular profile, you can request to become a "contact" of that member. The other member will need to approve your request before you are added to their list of contacts. Remember, the more "contacts" you have, the more chance there is of other members stumbling across your profile and the more chance for potential business if you are a company!

Upload Photos
Each member can create photo albums, each containing a maximum of 25 photos. All members can write public comments on photos.

Member Forum
Members can post messages to any forum on the site. This is the area of the site where all members can communicate with each other whether they are contacts or not. This is a place to discuss things and have a general chat about your shared interest.

Guestbooks
Each member has a public guestbook on their profile. All members have the ability to post messages, comments or embed Youtube video code on their "friends" profiles. All guestbook entries will be visible to all members and visitors to Scalemodeller unless the member deletes the guesstbook entry.

Bulletins
This is just a fun little feature where you can quickly announce what you are doing at the moment, quickly notify people of events or just put up witty one-liners. All people who view your profile will see your bulletins.

Messages
If you want to contact a member but want to do it more privately, you can send them a message by clicking the "Send Message" icon on that member's profile.

Events
Each member can add as many events as they want. These can either be personal events or shows and exhibitions. You can notify all your contacts about events that have been added to the site and they will all be listed on the Scalemodeller events diary.

Webshops and Datapartners Products
Scalemodeller has been designed to tie in with the Datapartners Webshop and all other related e-commerce products. If you are a business selling items to the Scale Model market, this could very well be the ideal opportunity to move your business into the 21st Century and sell your stock online without having to part with vast amounts of money!
